Founded by Lidia Danesi, Mamma’s Pizza™ started as one of the very first Italian restaurants in Toronto known as the Monte Carlo Restaurant – Mamma’s Pizza™

1960

Good Food!

Lidia grew up in a small village a top a mountain in the Tuscany region of Italy. She came to Canada, bringing Italian recipes passed on to her from her family. Lidia was often seen preparing pizza in the window. Customers were amazed with their first experience of biting into a fresh slice of pizza. They called her “Mamma, Queen of Pizza” and that is how Mamma’s Pizza™ was created.

2007

50th Anniversary

Ever since, Mamma’s Pizza™ has been passed on to second and third generations. Today it is a successful brand with franchise locations across the GTA and continuing its growth across Ontario.

2017

60 Years

Mamma’s Pizza™ produces today, as we did back then, pizza dough made daily on the premises, along with fresh homemade sauces. Mamma’s Pizza™ offers customers a choice of two styles of pizza – the traditional Mamma’s Pizza™ and the Mamma’s Gourmet Pizza.

More Offerings

Mamma’s Pizza™ offers a choice of unique toppings and specialty cheeses such as Asiago, Goat, Feta, Ricotta, Gorgonzola and our blended house cheese. We also offer pastas, bowls, salads and sandwiches.
